Hello, I'm Stefanie, a licensed therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and discover their path to healing and growth. With 16 years of experience in the field of mental health, I specialize in trauma recovery, anxiety and depression, relationship counseling, maternal mental health, life transitions and parenting.

My journey into the field of therapy began with a passion for understanding the human mind and a desire to make a positive impact in people's lives. I hold a degree in both psychology and mental health counseling, and continually pursue ongoing education and training to stay at the forefront of therapeutic approaches and techniques.

At the heart of my practice is a commitment to providing compassionate, client-centered care. I believe in creating a safe and supportive space where individuals can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each client.

I am deeply passionate about helping individuals overcome obstacles, build resilience, and live more fulfilling lives. Whether you're struggling with past traumas, navigating relationship challenges, or seeking support for anxiety or depression, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and self-discovery.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring the beauty of Northern California through hiking and bike rides. I place a high value on nurturing relationships, so spending quality time with friends and family members is also valuable to me. I have a passion for cooking and baking, as well at attempting to nurture the plants I manage to keep alive at home (it’s a relatively new hobby…). Reading and learning are continued passions of mine, I am often found up late in the evenings continuing to fill my mind with books and literature on various topics. These experiences all enrich my life and inform my approach to therapy, allowing me to bring empathy, authenticity, and understanding to every session.

If you're ready to take the next step towards positive change and personal growth, I invite you to reach out and schedule a session. Together, we can work towards creating a brighter and more fulfilling future.

More about Stefanie:

I have been working the this field for over 16 years and have experience working with clients of all different backgrounds, life experiences and ages, from birth to over 100.

My training began in Santa Rosa, California with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. I then went on to achieve my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University. Upon graduation, I started working with the Hyperactivity, Attention and Learning Problems Clinic at the University of California San Francisco. A few years later my training then continued in Florida where I attended Nova Southeastern University and received a Masters of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling. During this time I also underwent training to become a Certified Specialist in Psychometry and received significant training in administering and scoring psychological and neuropsychological assessments.

I hold active licenses in both California and Florida. I have specialized training in trauma, couples counseling, anxiety, depression and maternal mental health. I am Level 3 Trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, which is a research-based approach to help couples overcome their barriers. I am also trained in the Safe and Sound Protocol and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I am a Certified Specialist in Psychometry and have worked in clinical settings administering, scoring, and reporting psychological and neuropsychological assessments.

I take an attachment based approach to working with my clients. This means we may explore early attachments, history of relationships and current interpersonal relationships in order to find common threads to your unwanted behaviors or triggered emotions. I find it helpful to bring in a number of different therapy techniques as all clients are different and different approaches will work depending on what you are bringing into the session. Together we will work to find the root cause of where struggles began, identify how these patterns resemble patterns from past situations or relationships, and determine the meaning behind your desire for change. We will get in the habit of identifying undesired patterns that are maintaining the feelings you don’t like and gradually shift these towards healthy ones. You will be challenged, supported, and encouraged throughout the process. Change will happen and you will feel better.

Here’s to you as you begin this journey towards thriving ~
